How Does It Work?
eBMS/Mobile Apps work by connecting to a licensed Web Services Application that runs on NiagaraAX. The license can be installed on a JACE or a Web Supervisor.
JACE Licensing
If you have a single JACE on your site or you want to license individual JACE's at more than one location, you need to purchase one or more Single JACE Licenses. Once the license is installed onto the JACE, it will automatically start to work by examining your AX configuration, graphics etc and serving up the data and graphics to the remote device running the App. Remember, the Apps are free for both iPad and iPhone so you can download, install and connect as many of them as you like to each Licensed JACE.
If you have more than one JACE, say at different locations and you have licensed all of them with Single JACE licenses then you can add them as different Hosts within the eBMS/Mobile App on iPad and iPhone and give them friendly names to allow you to change between the different JACE's. We call this feature Multiple Hosts.
However, we would always recommend that if you have more than one JACE and you can access them across a network, it makes better sense to install an AX Web Supervisor as part of your installation anyway and then license the Web Supervisor with a multiple host eBMS/Mobile license (see below).
Web Supervisor Licensing
Typically, if you have more than one JACE then you probably have connected the JACE's back to a single AX Web Supervisor.
In this case, whether it's one or more local JACE's or one or more Remote JACE's, if they are connected to a Web Supervisor, you will want to buy a Web Supervisor License. The license works by unlocking connectivity to the JACE's through the Web Supervisor so your license will reflect how many JACE's you have connected.
Purchasing a License
You will need to purchase license(s) based on your specific configuration. The purchase process will require you to select the correct number of license(s), provide us with the matching Host ID(s) and then complete the payment. Once we receive your payment and host ID(s), you will receive a license file. You can download the Web Services Application you need for the JACE or Web Supervisor from the Downloads Page on this site. Follow the Installation Instructions (also in the Downloads Section) to Install the Application and the License and then you are free to download as many copies of the App as you like from the Apple App Store and configure those Apps to look at your IP address where you have just installed the license and the Web Services Application.
License Duration
There is no expiry on our licenses so once you have made a purchase, it's yours forever with no annual renewal fee. We work hard to maintain backward compatibility too so as updates come out, you can download these for free, install them and take advantage of all the new features we are constantly adding, not just to the Apps but also the Web Services Application that runs on the AX Framework.
